After a long couple of
weeks the last of the "Irish" events is upon us. The Meriden St.
Patricks Day parade will step off from the corner of Parker Ave and Broad St. (Stop and Shop) at 2 P.M. All off-duty members are
encouraged to meet at Engine 3 between 1:15 and 1:30. As always out of town I.A.F.F. members who chose to march with us
are welcome and asked to wear their Class "A" uniform. You can park
at the Stop and Shop parking lot and walk over to Engine 3.
There will be a Pre-Parade Brunch at VEGAS PUB from 11 am to 1 pm. Anyone attending should contact Andy Kyle at T1 Group 2 |

St Baldricks - $49,500 dollars and still counting |
Hey,
The early count from the Saint Baldricks Event this weekend are in and they
are awesome with the total at 49,500 dollars and still counting,,,,,,,,,
Absolutely phenomenal. Meriden Firefighters stepped up as usual raising 6600.00
(still counting also), with Greg Polanski leading the fund raising.
This year
saw many new faces as the outside houses picked it up and the "class of 2007"
really brought it to the table with Brandt,Schultz, Doucette, Robinson and the
newest new guy Joey Scags all participating, bringing this event to a whole new
level.
Many thanks to all who participated, came and hung out and showed their
support. Special thanks to our M.C. Timmy Eccles, who kept the crowd on their
toes as well as Chief Trainor, D/C Bowen and the Local 1148 E-board for their
support of this event.
Rumors are already circulating for next year and I hear
that a certain Truck guy (who sells houses) will shave his head for the amount
of 5000 dollars. Again thanks for your support in raising the needed funds for
childhood cancer research. As the totals keep adding up I will update the numbers.
Sincerely
Ryan Dunn |
